We visited Chester-lee Street’s Riverside Park last summer for the first time to visit County Durham’s only splash park. It was busy as expected but a lovely large park with plenty to explore and the girls absolutely loved having lots of fun running around playing in the water with their cousins.
I would highly recommend a visit just arrive nice and early for a parking space at the park, there is an additional parking option available opposite Durham Cricket Club as well as at Riverside Lesuire Complex the parking charges start from 80p for an hour. We just need the sun to make an appearance now!

As well as the splash park and play park you also have the beautiful ornamental gardens to walk around. Also, a walk through the wildflower meadows and back along the river is a must.
