The amazing detailed sculptures by Glacial Art were back in Darlington for the second year running. This year was a hugely popular event and it was fantastic to see so many people out enjoying the fantastic ice sculptures, the land train, and the Christmas Market.
With a selection of sculptures dotted around the town centre and a chance to watch a live carving, one of which you could have a go yourself, street theatre, live music, and even some snow. We enjoyed some free crafts in the marquee filled with lots of independent traders for the Christmas Market, loved the feel of this with a walkway to the outdoor area with lots of food & drinks vendors.
We also ventured down to DL1 they had an ice sculpture on display as part of the trail and they had organised a snow globe that you could go inside and enjoy. The girls had lots of fun throwing the snow around inside and it made for some great photos.
You can watch a short video of what was on offer below. I will keep you posted with dates for 2020 if Darlington Council brings back this excellent addition to the festive period.
Well done Darlington this was a fantastic, festive, fun and free event in the run-up to Christmas.
