We had so much fun finding the Witches in the Enchanted Forest whilst following a Halloween trail. The Enchanted Forest is beautiful at this time of year with the illuminations.

Stockeld park brings out the magical imagination in children as you make your way around the huge Enchanted Forest. The children can clamber a spider web, slide down a teapot’s spout, seek out the witches and help create a magical potion. Then look and listen out for faires or play them a majestic tune. Peer out over the mystical lake and spot the mermaid. The list goes on! Each area you come across is so well thought out and sparking the children’s curiosities and wonder as well as being so much fun for them to play in.

Later we had lots of giggles getting lost in the giant maze as the sun goes down.  Be warned this is no half-hearted maze! It is huge and after three visits now we still haven’t managed to master it or see it all. It is full of interactive areas including a familiar-looking police box. There are over 2 miles of path in this 8-foot high labyrinth, which is the largest in Yorkshire. With so many unexpected treats to be found as you venture around, it’s lots of fun for all the family.

With a few optional extras like ice skating or Nordic ski walking available too when you visit.

It’s worth staying until dusk falls to enjoy the illuminations perfect to sit with a hot chocolate and enjoy.
